Live International Development Consultants PLC (LIDC) has entered into a contract with GIZ in January 2024 to conduct a Multi-Sectoral Assessment (MSA) for the “Qualifications and Employment Perspectives for Refugees and Host Communities in Ethiopia (QEP)” in the Tigray, Beneshangul Gumuz, and Somali regions. Over a nine-month period, LIDC successfully delivered the project within the agreed timeline, demonstrating high competency. The initiative aims to address resilience and employment challenges faced by host communities and refugees, while also supporting internally displaced people (IDPs) affected by the conflict in Tigray, Beneshangul Gumuz and Somali Regions of Ethiopia.
The consultancy’s objectives include a multi-stakeholder assessment focusing on various components. Key tasks involve analyzing locations and stakeholders, validating sectors for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and employment creation, and conducting baseline studies for selected indicators. Additionally, the consultancy assessed reconstruction needs in the WaSH sector and developed a new approach to ensure access to adequate water, sanitation, and hygiene services. The project also evaluated the specific needs of people with disabilities (PWD), ultimately paving the way for job opportunities and essential services for the affected populations.
